Privacy notice

Last updated

This notice explains how Dash Digital Ltd uses personal data when you visit dash-digital.uk or contact us directly.

The short version

  • This website has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
  • If you email us, we use what you send only to reply and to keep a record of our conversation.
  • We never sell personal data.

Who we are

Dash Digital Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17185782. Our registered office is 3rd Floor, 86‑90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE.

For anything about your personal data, email [email protected]. It reaches the person responsible for data protection at Dash Digital.

What this notice covers

This notice covers this website and any contact you have with Dash Digital Ltd itself. Innovation Management Group, Quidcast and The Fact Desk are run by Dash Digital Ltd but each has its own website. Where one of those products collects personal data, its own privacy notice explains what it collects and why.

When you visit this website

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information that your browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. We don’t use this information to identify you.

We don’t use analytics, advertising, social media buttons or content embedded from other companies. Our fonts are stored on this website, so loading a page doesn’t send your details to a font service.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visit comes from a person rather than an automated bot. That cookie doesn’t track you across other websites, and UK law doesn’t require consent for it.

When you email us

If you email [email protected] or [email protected], we receive your name, your email address and anything you include in your message. We use it to reply, to deal with what you’ve asked for, and to keep a record of our correspondence.

Our lawful bases under UK data protection law are:

  • Legitimate interests: answering enquiries and running our business.
  • Steps before a contract: where you’ve asked about working with us.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep records, for example for tax.

Who we share it with

We use two service providers, who act only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare hosts and protects this website.
  • Fastmail provides our email.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example to HM Revenue & Customs or to the police when they have proper legal authority. We never sell personal data or share it for marketing.

Data outside the UK

Cloudflare is based in the United States and runs a global network. Fastmail stores email on servers in the European Union and the United States. When personal data leaves the UK, it is protected either by UK adequacy regulations, which include the UK–US data bridge, or by contract terms approved under UK law in our providers’ data processing agreements.

How we keep it safe

This website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and Cloudflare protects it against attacks. Our email and hosting accounts are protected by strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and only the people who need access have it.

How long we keep it

  • Emails: for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, then for up to two years, unless they form part of our business records.
  • Business records, such as those relating to a contract or an invoice: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax law requires.
  • Website logs: held briefly by Cloudflare under its own retention policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
  • delete your personal data
  • limit how we use it, or stop using it
  • send it to you or another organisation in a portable format, where that right applies

To make a request, email [email protected]. It’s free, and we’ll respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We don’t make decisions about you by automated means.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, please tell us first at [email protected]. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you what happens next.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
